Huawei OceanStor Storage and Commvault

Interoperability Test Report

Axians Global All Rights Reserved

Executive Summary

Axians Global (“Axians”) assessed the interoperability of Commvault with Huawei Storage solutions including OceanStor Pacific Series. The goal of the assessment is to validate that Commvault is interoperable with Huawei Storage.

In the assessment, Axians has determined that Commvault content management will function with Huawei Storage for the following scenarios:

Test Purpose

To verify that the CIFS share of Storage can be added to Commvault as backup media.

Test Networking

Storage as the Commvault Storage Media and Source Test Networking.

Prerequisites

  1. Storage devices, backup servers, and deployment and networking have been completed.
  2. The storage system and backup software are working properly.

Test Procedure

  1. Create a WORM file system on DM, including configuring NAS shares, logical ports, authenticating users, initializing the global WORM clock, and configuring WORM attributes (the default protection period is required).
  2. On the Add Backup Media page of the backup software, add the WORM file system as the backup media.
  3. On the Media page of the backup software, view the capacity of the added backup media.

Expected Result

  1. In step 1, the WORM file system is successfully created, and the WORM attributes displayed on the DM page are consistent with the configuration.
  2. In step 2, the created WORM file system is successfully added as the backup media, and no error is reported.
  3. In step 3, on the media page of the backup software, the capacity of the backup media is the same as that of the storage DM.

Test Results

  1. Create a WORM file system on DM and configure the worm.
